SAN BERNARDINO, CA—If you have ever had to chase down trash all over your neighborhood as well as the lids of your trash containers, you and your neighbors will appreciate the Universal Strap. It is a specially designed retaining strap for the lids of outdoor garbage and recycling containers. The device provides a simple yet effective means of securing the tops of these receptacles so they are not blown away by gusts of wind or after being knocked askew by animals and subsequently lost, making the garbage container worthless.

The Universal Strap was invented by Randy R. of San Bernardino, CA. He said, “I have a working prototype and would never be without it. It has saved me the cost of new barrels more than once. It also offers a deterrent to nosy animals that find garbage containers a great place to investigate and forage for food. The lawn and back yard stay clean because the can cover stays on the container. No more need to rake and pick up scattered trash when the Universal Strap is used because it keeps the cover on the garbage barrel tight and secure from windy weather, animals and accidental tips.”
